MOU signing ceremony for supporting  entrepreneurship was held on Monday, 16th May 2022 between the Center for Entrepreneurial Development Institute of Business Administration (IBA-CED) and Valeem (an EdTech startup). The main purpose of this MOU is to establish collaboration between both the parties for the promotion of entrepreneurship among teenagers and kids in Pakistan.

The ceremony started with the brief background shared by Dr. Shahid Qureshi (Program Director CED IBA). The AMAN Center for Entrepreneurial Development (AMAN-CED) is envisioned to play a strategic role in promoting entrepreneurship in Pakistan and to create a new breed of youth and professionals who believe in opportunity recognition and new venture creation. Its primary emphasis is to enable the new generation of Pakistani entrepreneurs to translate their ideas into enterprises. Accordingly, AMAN-CED aims to support creation of new companies that add substantial jobs, incomes and revenues to Pakistan’s economy. The co-founders of Valeem, Mr Ali Rehan and Mr M. Ghayas Uddin also shared their own journeys of living as an entrepreneur after having graduated from IBA. They mentioned that IBA has played a major role in shaping their mindset and in teaching them essential skills that have always been crucial in growing their Edtech start-up.

Valeem, an online learning marketplace is on a mission of changing lives by connecting learners with experts, making quality education accessible, affordable and flexible through digital channels.

Valeem offers a dynamic Learning Management System (LMS) and a platform for the students to connect with their relevant instructors in a hassle free way, from the comfort of their home. It  has acquired a student base from 13 countries for various programs and courses.

IBA’s Center for Entrepreneurial Development brings exciting opportunities for young minds! Their Summer Entrepreneurship Camp is an experiential learning program for kids and teens that compels participants to unleash their entrepreneurial potential. Along with engaging them in fun-filled activities and effectual-learning, the program offers its participants the opportunity to explore their entrepreneurial ideas, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, master essential life skills, and learn core values. Valeem in collaboration with IBA CED aims to work together by expanding the reach of this program even further to achieve these goals.

Ms. Amin, who is leading multiple programs of IBA CED including Global Mothers Entrepreneurship Camp, Summer Entrepreneurship Camp, played a vital role in designing the terms of partnership for optimizing synergy. Her past experience of managing the entrepreneurship programs will benefit the collaboration in achieving its set targets.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Shahid Qureshi (Program Director CED IBA) and Mr. Ali Rehan and/or Mr. Ghayas Uddin (Co-Founders of Valeem). The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Ujala Zaidi (Assistant Project Manager Valeem) and Ms. Misbah Amin (Program Coordinator CED IBA).
