Adjustable Projector Mount?

I’m building a ceiling-mounted projector system and want it to be height-adjustable via remote. I figure a linear actuator would do the trick, but I’m not sure which type would be smooth and quiet enough for this kind of application. Has anyone done something like this before?

I’ve actually done something similar for a skylight project, and I’d definitely recommend checking out the electric linear actuators from Progressive Automations https://progressiveautomations.com.au/collections/linear-actuators . They have a variety of weather-resistant models that are compact but still offer decent force. For a roof hatch, something like their PA-04 actuator might work well — it’s rugged and IP-rated for outdoor use. They also have options with different stroke lengths and force ratings, so you can match it to the weight and movement you need. What I like is how easy they make it to pair with control switches or even remote systems if you want to get fancy later on. Their support team is also really helpful if you’re not totally sure what specs to go with. Definitely worth checking out for small automation projects like this.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve been struggling to find an actuator that fits in a tight space but still has enough strength for my appliance lift. Progressive Automations looks like it has exactly what I was looking for. I’ll definitely be trying them out.
